CHARGERS ROCKETRY CLUB

We're Chatfield's first Asian Student Association. We're all about learning and spreading Asian American culture and history as well as making friends. You do not have to be Asian to join, we want to include anyone who is interested in Asian culture and history.

The Chatfield BAGS Club started in 2020 distributing care packages at various locations for low-income or homeless individuals. Since then, our tradition has stayed strong within the Charger community and student body. We primarily focus on giving out supplies to individuals experiencing homelessness but also have the opportunity to volunteer for local organizations, fundraise, and more. Chatfield BAGS Club is student-led and provides numerous opportunities to receive service hours, leadership credit, and help our fellow community members. Our student government enhances our school's reputation by being visible and active in leadership. Their main goal is to develop school pride and positive communication among the students, faculty, and community. We strive for excellence through leadership. Elections are held each spring.

The Cheerleading Squad is composed of young women that have gone through a tryout in the spring and fall. They serve as a support group for athletic and special events at school. Their routines are performed primarily during halftime shows. More information at the Cheerleading website.

CHOIR COUNCIL

Choir Council is a student leadership organization for students who share a passion for vocal music. Their purpose is to lead, organize, and execute choir events while seeking input from current choir classes. This organization sets monthly meeting dates. Elections are held in the Spring and Fall. CHOP (CHatfield Outread Program)

This is an organization that all students are welcome to join. They work to create an understanding an appreciation for diversity in our community by partnering with diverse Jeffco Elementary schools and serving as big buddies. There are four major events: the school visit to Lumberg elementary, decorating and putting on the CHOP event (Chatfield Holiday Outreacy Party, and a trip the the Art Museum with the little buddies.

COLOR GUARD

Color Guard is a visual effect for the Marching Band. Auditions and recruiting in the fall for Winter Guard and in the spring for the upcoming fall marching season. The ensemble performs with the band at all competitions and games. Dance, flag work, and vaious use of props are all important parts of this group.


CO OP BOARD GAMES CLUB

Co-op borad games are about working together to win against the game and possibly some betrayal. The club is open to anyone that wants to play co-op board games. Or to anyone that has been curious about trying out that game played on Stranger Things. The games I'm hoping to play are games like Dread (Jenga based roleplaying game), Mysterium, Betrayal at House on the Hill, and many more. Hope to see you there.

eSPORTS

eSports takes video gaming to another level with organized competitive gameplay between two teams, governed by its own strict set of rules and guidelines. It demands critical thinking, communication, teamwork, and creativity in order for students to succeed.

Future Business Leaders of America is a national business club that develops leadership, fosters competition, participates within the community, and promotes social activities. Family, Career and Community Leaders of America is a nonprofit national career and technical student organization for young men and women in Family and Consumer Sciences. FCCLA members develop leadership skills and explore career pathways through participation in competitive events, community service, and leadership conferences. The real-world skills they develop help our membrs become college and career ready. German Club is a place for students to come together to learn about, share enthusiasm of, and experience the German language and culture! We plan events that are relevant to modern and historical Germany, from enjoying a special German dinner together to watching a German film. You don't have to actively be enrolled in German courses at Chatfield to join, but it helps.


GREEN CLUB

Green Club is a group of students trying to bring about a positive change in the local and global environment. We do this through volunteering in our community, planning community tree planting days, reducing our waste as a school, and recycling anything we can! Anyone interested in leaving a positive change in the community is welcome or someone looking to educate themselves about the effects of our day to day lives.


GSA (Gay-Straight Alliance)

Our club exists for the purpose of creating a safer school environment for LGBTQ+ people. We strive to protect students who identify as LGBTQ+ and their straight allies from harassment, abuse, and mistreatment. Aside from working diligently to imporve the school environment, the GSA also puts emphasis on changing the community in our ultimate goal of ending intolerance. We will create an environment in which it is safe for people to express themselves, their individuality and/or their sexuality without consequence or judgement.

HACKY SACK CLUB

The Hacky Sack Club provides students with a unique opportunity to engage in a fun and physically active recreational activity. Hacky sack promotes teamwork, coordination, and friendly competition. Additionally, it offers a casual and inclusive environment where students from different grades and backgrounds can come together to enjoy a shared interest.


KEY CLUB

Standing for "Kiwanis Education Youth," this group is a service-oriented club with many activities and opportunities for volunteer work. There are many social events with lots of opportunities to make new friends with other KEY clubs throughout the district. It is possible to letter through KEY Club participation.


INCLUSION LEADERSHIP

Inclusion Leadership is a student-run club that explores, creates, and provides opportunities for high school students to foster, develop, and maintain relationships with students who have significant support needs. These relationships are built through sports, crafts, dances, games, and activities. Inclusion Leadership's goal is to create an inclusive school climate for students and a community culture of acceptance.


MOCK TRIAL

Students in Mock Trial Club will act out a civil or criminal trial by arguing for either the prosecution or defense side against another team, which acts as the opposing side. The Mock Trial Team(s) are composed of 6-12 students who perform a case for the Prosecution/Plantiff and/or the Defense. Students practice their case and then compete against other schools in a district competition. In most cases, an actual Colorado judge or magistrate presides over the trial round while attorneys, paralegals, and community members adjudicate the student performances. For students passionate about the law, public speaking, or problem-solving, Mock Trial can be an extremely fulfilling extracurricular activity to pursue.


MOUNTAIN BIKE TEAM

The Chatfield Mountain Bike Team participates in the Colorado High School Cycling League and is an associate of the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA). We practice at least twice a week and there area total of five race competitions in the Fall. The League is an exceptional way for high school students to explore the sport. Often League racers participate in collegiate cycling and national and international competition. Several NICA alumni athletes are now racing on professional teams, employed in the cycling industry, and becoming community leaders.

NHS is an honorary service organization for sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Membership is offered to academically qualified students who meet leadership, character and service requirements. Academic requirements are based upon different cumulative grade point averages for each class. National Art Honor Society is a program to inspire and recognize students who have shown an outstanding ability and interest in art. The program supports members in their efforts to attain the highest standards in art scholarship, character, and service, and to bring art education to the attention of the school and community. There are volunteer opportunities for students who are interested in lettering and/or graduating with honor cords.

NOTES FOR HOPE

Notes for Hope is a club which works with Casa de Paz, an organization which helps asylum seekers. Students write letters monthly to a pen pal who is currently seeking asylum. These people are often in hopeless, desperate situations and a simple letter can make a huge difference in his/her life. Skills in Spanish, French, or other foreign languages are useful but certainly not required as many asylum seekers speak English.

STUDENT VOICE

Our purpose is to empower CSH students from diverse backgrounds to be voices for positive change in our school. It is a forum for students to collaborate with the Superintendent and other school, district and community leaders to create a sustainable movement for social justice in our school through compassionate leadership. Our district-wide SV gatherings take place four times per year where 5-10 Ambassadors from every Jeffco high school gather to learn and build together.

We have two ways to get involved with after school theatre: International Thespian Troupe 4126 and our performances. Our Troupe meets the last Thursday of every month to work on community involvement, to plan our competitions, and participate in other Chatfield events. There is an annual induction ceremony in May for all new Troupe members and Theatre letter recipients. We have three performances each year.
