Social Emotional Learning Supports

@ Chatfield High

Hello! Welcome to the SELS page for Chatfield Senior High

My name is Diana Rarich, and I am a school social worker by training and have worked as a social worker for over 20 years. I have my Masters in Social Work (MSW) as well as my clinical license in Colorado (LCSW). I have worked for Jeffco Schools since 2003 at the high school and transition levels. I became a Charger in the fall of 2019, and am so grateful for this role where I get to support our community and our students in living their best lives. My bachelors degree education was at Skidmore College and I earned my Masters in Social Work at the University of Denver. I endeavor to provide resources and supportive information here for students, families and staff regarding healthy social and emotional development, relationships, coping, and community resources. I work closely with students, families and school staff to help bridge school, home, and community to support students' success!

I am passionate about students being empowered, and to this end serve as the site coordinator for Sources of Strength at Chatfield, along with a fabulous team of adult advisors. Sources is designed to build strengths, resilience, and empower students to be a contagion of Hope, Health and Strength. At any time, if you want to get involved, feel free to email me directly. I am also the sponsor for Student Voice, which is an opportunity for students to share their perspectives on issues of diversity, equity, and social justice, and the GSA (Gay-Straight Alliance) club.

In the summer of 2019, I completed the coursework required to be certified by The Daring Way™, which is Dr. Brené Brown's educational research group. The Daring Way™ is an empirically based training and certification program for helping professionals, based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown. The curricula I offer focuses on the topics covered in Brené’s books, including courage, vulnerability, shame, and empathy. BOLD™ is a courage building curriculum for adolescents who want to take a deep dive into self discovery, shame resilience, vulnerability, courage, and personal leadership. I love to travel, and have visited thirty eight countries and counting. My family is one of my greatest sources of strength, both immediate as well as adopted nieces and nephews. Other healthy activities I enjoy are music (going to concerts, or leading with guitar, keys, or vocals), generosity in the form of volunteering (I am on disaster response with the Red Cross, and serve when I travel internationally), bicycling, and for my creative side I like to sling mud and create ceramic materials.

Please explore the various pages I have assembled here, as I try to bring lots of relevant resources. If there is something you don't see but would like to know more about, just email me! Also, if you would like to connection, you can click here to directly schedule an appointment into my calendar.
